how reading changes my perspective

Like most individuals who eventually discover/decide that they are writers, I was an avid reader from a young age. It all started with Berenstain Bears, then Silverstein Poetry, then Matilda and the BFG, tales from Avonlea, the stories of Taron the Wanderer and eventually the English Moors and Pemberley. I also found Stephanie Plum and Poirot along the way.

Long before I was a member of the #writingcommunity I belonged to the #readingcommunity.

I find that I’m a better and happier person when I’m actively reading. I can think of books that have taught me lessons about everything from how to handle a bad relationship to how to spot a murderer in a small New England town. I’ve been to corners of the world I would never otherwise have had the means to travel to.
